Send an email that the system will be going down for a backup – there is no way to see the HRMS users or the workshop registration users on the system. (if applicable)

Do all steps from the system console.

Send a break message to all users that the system is going down

Type GO ASSIST, option 4, fill in following screen

End the domino servers (if applicable)

Type wrkdomsvr and press enter

Option 6 by each server.

Press enter to confirm the ending.

Choose option 9 by each server until all jobs are ended.

Press F5 on the screen until all jobs are gone.

If the domino server takes more than 10 minutes to end, the server can be ended immediately (although not recommended).

Option 6 by the server then F4.

Fill in the screen as shown

Once all jobs are ended for all domino servers (if there are more than one), end the domino subsystems if necessary.

Type WRKSBS and press enter.

Option 4 by the domino subsystems and press F4

Option is *immed to end

End the QINTER (interactive subsystem), so no one can get try and access the system while the backup is running.

Type WRKSBS and press enter

Option 4 by QINTER, press F4 and choose *immed

Type WRKJOBSCDE QE*, the following will be shown

Type option 10 by last night’s job, press enter twice.  The backup job will be submitted.

To watch the backup job running, type WRKSBSJOB   QBATCH.     Verify the backup ran successfully.

Once completed, start the domino servers back up.

Start the interactive subsystem (QINTER) back up

Send an email to all users that the system is now back up.
