Power down the AS400 iSeries

To Power Down the AS/400 iSeries, do the following:


Sign onto the system console with the QSECOFR user profile

End the Domino server if applicable (wrkdomsvr - option 6 to end - F5 to refresh and wait for *ended in status)  - Also do option 9 to make sure all jobs have ended.

Make sure that all users have signed off the system (do a WRKSBSJOB  QINTER - this screen should be empty.)

type ENDSBS  *ALL  *IMMED and press enter

type WRKSBS and press enter - press F5 to monitor this screen until all subsystems have ended except QCTL.

Wait for a few minutes and then do a DSPMSG  QSYSOPR and press enter.  Keep checking these messages until you see the message "System Ended to a Restricted Condition"

Type PWRDWNSYS  *IMMED - press F4 - make sure the RESTART option is *NO.


**Note - to turn the AS/400 back on, press the white button on the front of the AS/400 one time.  You will see codes scroll across the front panel within a minute from the time you press the button.
