Overview of Creating Spaces in Facility Tracker:
NOTE: If you signed up for the Event Scheduler, prior to signing up for Work Order Management, your spaces will be pre-populated for you.
NOTE: Once you add the new space, it will also be displayed on the Event Scheduler side if you are a bundled client; however, the space cannot be scheduled unless an Admin edits the space within Settings>Basic>Spaces, allowing it to be scheduled. You may not want users to have access to schedule this space, especially if it is a closet with equipment in it or a bathroom.
To create a space in Facility Tracker’s Work Order Management, go to “Settings” and choose the plus symbol to the right to expand your options.:
Once this grid has expanded then go to “Basic “ and choose the plus symbol to the right to expand your options.:
Once this expands, select “Spaces”.:
Select “Add New Space” located in the upper right of the page.:
Enter the “Space Name” and choose the “Location” it is linked to. The locations will be available for selection in the dropdown box that appears when click within the “Locations” field. When you are done choose “Save”.:
*** Please note*** that if you have already entered your equipment list then the option to select equipment may be available to you. If you choose to select any “Equipment” from the equipment drop-down list, you will only have access to this piece of equipment on work orders that are tied to this location and space. The equipment be will NOT be available on work order tickets outside of this specific location or space. :
Once your space is created you can now add spaces within this space called a “Child”. You can do this by going to the space that you have created and selecting the green “plus” symbol to the right of your chosen space.:
Enter the name of your “Child” and choose “Save”.
:
Now you will be able to see your “Child” when you expand the name of your original space that was created.:
There is also a “Drag and Drop Spaces” feature that will make it easy to create children within a space. You can also use this feature to break apart the parent / child display.
To use this feature, select the “Drag and Drop Spaces” button located on the upper right of the “Spaces” page.:
Click on the name of the space that you wish to make a child, and drop it over the name of the parent space.:
Select the “Back to Spaces” button.:
Now you will be able to see this child displayed under the parent space.:
