Two ways to create a new Opportunity Coordinator

Here are multiple ways to create an Opportunity Coordinator:

Creating a New Coordinator Within an Opportunity
By default, the person creating the Opportunity is the “Person Coordinating”. This also defaults the phone number and the email of the person selected in the “Person Coordinating” drop down box.
If the Person Coordinating the Opportunity is not already a designated Coordinator, you can add them as a Coordinator by clicking the “Add a New Opportunity Coordinator” button.

1) Click on the “Add a New Opportunity Coordinator” button.
2) Fill in the information and then click “Save”. This now creates a Site Opportunity Coordinator.
You will get a message that the Opportunity Coordinator was added.

Note:  The newly created Site Opportunity Coordinator will receive an email to indicate they have been assigned to coordinate this Opportunity.  If the user has not registered to use the Volunteer Tracker, instructions for registering will be included in the email.
2) If you are finished editing/creating the Site Opportunity Coordinator, click “Submit”.

Note: A Site Opportunity Coordinator can only create, manage, and edit Opportunities they create themselves or an Opportunity assigned to them by a higher-level Coordinator.

A Site Opportunity Coordinator can also create Major Events and Opportunity Templates.

Creating a Site Opportunity Coordinator

Why Create a Site Opportunity Coordinator?
Volunteer Coordinators can create a new Coordinator, known as a Site Opportunity Coordinator. A Site Opportunity Coordinator can only create, manage, and edit Opportunities that either they create themselves or an Opportunity that is assigned to them by a higher-level Coordinator.  This allows you to provide the capability for others at your site to recruit volunteers for their own opportunities.  If you are going to assign opportunities to others at your location, it is helpful to create the Site Opportunity Coordinators first.

A Site Opportunity Coordinator can also create Major Events and Opportunity Templates.
Example: A school would like for a specific teacher to create an Opportunity that can be managed by the teacher. The teacher that created the Opportunity is now able to communicate with Volunteers that sign up for their Opportunity.
1) Click on the “Opportunities” tab and then select the “Coordinators” option.

2) Click on the “Add New Coordinator” button.
3) Fill in the required information on the “New Coordinator” box with the required information.

4) Click Save.

A new coordinator can also be created while entering information for an Opportunity, Major Event or Template.

You can search for an Opportunity in the “Opportunity Management” option the same way as you would through the “Opportunities” option.  Note that the Opportunity Management page is automatically filtered to show active Opportunities where you are the assigned Coordinator.
